- Identification and Origin
Scientific name : Hybrid between Sophronitis coccinea and Sophronitis mantiqueira.
Origin : Parents native to the rainforests of Brazil (notably mountainous regions).
Natural habitat : Epiphytic, growing on tree branches and trunks in shaded and well-ventilated areas, between 800 and 1,800 m altitude.- Growing Conditions (Lot of 14 in vitro plants)
Temperature
Day : 18–24°C.
Night : 12–15°C.
To avoid : <10°C or >28°C.
Humidity
Ideal rate : 70–80%.
Light
Intensity : Bright but indirect light (east/west window or light shade cloth in a greenhouse).
To avoid : Direct sun during hot hours.
Watering
In vitro : Keep the medium slightly moist, avoid stagnant water.
Post-replanting : Regular watering, let dry slightly between two applications.
Fertilizer
In vitro : Diluted nutrient solution (1/4 dose) every 2 weeks.
Post-replanting : Orchid fertilizer (1/2 dose) during active growth.
