- Scientific name: Lycaste virginalis (Lindl.) Lindl.
- Origin: Rainforests of Mexico and Central America.
- Natural habitat: Epiphytic or terrestrial, between 1,200 and 2,000 m in altitude, in shaded and well-drained areas.
2. Appearance
- Size: 30–50 cm in height.
- Pseudobulbs: Oval, pale green, 8–12 cm long.
- Leaves: Leathery, plicate (folded), dark green, 20–30 cm long.
- Flowers: Large (10–14 cm in diameter), white to cream, fragrant.
- Blooming: Spring.

Temperature
- Day: 18–24°C.
- Night: 12–15°C.
