1. Identification and Origin

  • Scientific name: Horticultural hybrid between Lycaste 'Wild Court' and Lycaste 'Rouge Bright'.
  • Origin: Horticultural selection, parent species are native to Central America.
  • Natural habitat: Cultivated under controlled conditions, inspired by humid and shaded forests.

3. Cultivation Conditions (Lot of 15 in vitro plants)

Temperature

  • Day: 18–25°C.
  • Night: 13–16°C (day/night drop is essential for blooming).
  • To avoid: <10°C or >30°C. [1]

Humidity

  • Ideal rate: 70–80%.
  • Tip: Maintain constant humidity, especially during the active growth phase. Use a misting system for the in vitro plantlets. [1]

Light

  • Intensity: Filtered light (east/west window or greenhouse shading).
  • To avoid: Direct sunlight during hot hours.

Watering

  • In vitro: Keep the medium slightly moist, avoid standing water.
  • Post-deflasking / Post-transplanting: Moderate watering, allow to dry slightly between waterings.

Fertilizer

  • In vitro: Diluted nutrient solution (1/4 of standard dose) every 2 weeks.
