1. Identification and Origin
 
 
Scientific name: Paphiopedilum fairrieanum (Lindl.) Stein
 
 
Origin: Rainforests of the eastern Himalayas (India, Nepal, Bhutan, China).
 
 
Natural habitat: Terrestrial or lithophytic, between 1,200 and 2,500 m in altitude, in shaded and humid areas, often on limestone slopes or soils rich in organic matter.
