- Scientific name: Paphiopedilum fairrieanum (Lindl.) Stein
- Origin: Rainforests of the eastern Himalayas (India, Nepal, Bhutan, China).
- Natural habitat: Terrestrial or lithophytic, between 1,200 and 2,500 m in altitude, in shaded and humid areas, often on limestone slopes or soils rich in organic matter.
2. Cultivation Conditions (Lot of 14 in vitro plants)
Temperature
- Day: 18–24°C.
- Night: 12–15°C.
- To avoid: <10°C or >28°C.
Humidity
- Ideal rate: 60–80%.
Light
- Intensity: Filtered light (north window or shading in a greenhouse).
- To avoid: Direct sunlight.
Watering
- Post-deflasking / Post-transplanting: Regular watering, keep the substrate slightly moist without excess.
Fertilizer
- Guideline: Start applying fertilizer only when new roots emerge and at a reduced 1/2 dose, strictly during the growth period.
